“The overlong, convoluted and simplistic satire – the sprinkling of comedy strewn across it renders the exercise more flippant than funny – ultimately yields no more than a sloppy mish-mash of the relevant and the gratuitous that even the most omnipotent of gods cannot salvage…. OMG 2, which endorses blind faith even as it trots out arguments in favour of adopting a scientific, clinical approach to sex education in schools, goes round in circles.”

“Divine intervention saves the day.”
Nandini Ramnath, Scroll
“The sequel does the smart thing by side-stepping the tricky issue of diversity by tilting it towards such a startlingly progressive, liberal point-of-view that we forget, almost, the absence of other faiths. And comes up with a crackling film which questions the lack of faith ignorant adults repose (or rather, do not) in our young people as they explore the mysteries of their bodies with natural curiosity and frankness.”

Shubhra Gupta, Indian Express
“The script keeps going in circles, falling into the pits it keeps trying to climb out of, because in an increasingly sexualised culture, with pornography so easily available (and Kanti does mention this), it is not sufficient to teach kids the names of body parts (they already know!) but the possible consequences of casual or unsafe sex, the social and moral boundaries that must be observed. Kanti calls Western society ‘modern’ in their sexual attitudes, but that comes with its own set of problems… The film is like an argument for the sake of argument.”

Deepa Gahlot, Rediff
“I never thought I’d use the term ‘Big Dick Energy’ as a plot point in a movie review, but here we are… At some point, his argument becomes about the need for early sex education so that kids are rescued from themselves, which in turn implies that masturbation is a bad thing after all. Is he batting for sexual liberation or sexual expression? Who knows.”
